BajoRufián is a symbiotic being
that functions through two consciousnesses (María Bajo and Marta Rufián) and whose artistic production is based on the thought and experience around gender, sex and sexuality from a feminist and queer/cuir perspective. It’s an identity that flows between the institution and the periphery, and that uses a scavenger methodology that is fed by the research, the experimentation, the autoethnography and the collaboration. Its permanent processual state culminates in different projects whose forms appear like anomalous.
Since 2018, these two minds have worked together to reflect about hegemony and propose new critical realities. Both of them belong to a dimension where spaces are inhabited by beings who design their own bodies and sexualities with affects. His multidisciplinary artistic work is presented as a weapon to fight for those who live there, works in which his life experience is diluted, intermingling with the experience of them collaborators and forming part of a collective in a liquid state.
